Welcome to the Border History website

This is the name chosen to represent the societies on this website. We are not a formal body, but an informal group of enthusiasts. In the main we represent the local and family history groups of the area, though lone researchers are also welcome to join us.

Our aim is to encourage the growth and development of interest in local and family history in North Staffordshire and South Cheshire by working together wherever we can.  Eight successful one day fairs have been held at Alsager, Cheshire in 2000, 2001 & 2002, Leek Staffs 2003, Congleton Cheshire 2004, Biddulph 2005, Audley 2006 and Burslem in 2007.

The next fair will be held on the 8th NOVEMBER 2008 at the Alsager Civic Centre. Admission will be £1.00 and Refreshments will be available.

The group is not exclusive. We hope that other societies, groups will join us - many took part in the previous events. If your society or group wishes to be part of the group you will be welcome at our meetings. We work on the basis that all participants will play an equal part: jobs are not left to one or two individuals, but shared on a voluntary basis. At the same time, it is fully appreciated the main interests and concerns of members are their own societies and we intend to retain the informal nature of the group.

If you are a Group or Society and would like to reserve stand space then download an application form either in PDF format or as a Word doc file.
